Die Mikro- und Makroökonomie von Kartellbußen

Die Spirale immer höher ausfallender Kartellbußen ruft mehr und mehr Kritiker auf den Plan. Oxford Economics (“An analysis of the follow-on effects of cartel fines on investment and employment”, Mai 2010) untersucht die Folgen für Arbeitsplätze:

Under the “mid-range” scenario, used in the main body of this paper, a €150 million cartel fine on a generic French manufacturing firm could result in potential employment losses (“forgone employment”) across the French economy of some 516 jobs. The economy-wide potential forgone employment in the case of a €150 million fine on an Italian manufacturing firm could be in the order of 478 jobs, while the equivalents for Germany, Spain and Slovakia would be some 485, 544 and 492 jobs respectively.
